Employee of the Year Award

In 2011 Yorkshire Ambulance Service formed an LGBT Network to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered colleagues and Alistair has acted as Chair since its formation. In 2016 Alistair was elected as Chair to the National Ambulance LGBT Network and has led on developing the branding, creating a new website and planning the future direction. With Alistair at its helm, the impact of the networks services has been astonishing. Since launching rainbow star of life and trans star of life pin badges the National Ambulance LGBT Network have given out 6,000 badges for people to show they recognise and support the needs of LGBT people. Alistair has led the Network through three conferences, supported the development of trans resources and has been pivotal in bringing LGBT staff together at a number of Pride events. In 2018 Alistair was awarded an Outstanding Service Award by the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives.
