The Bradford based Society, which was shortlisted in five categories, won the awards in the UK Employee of the Year 2019, Chief Executive of the Year and Diversity Steering Group of the Year categories.
Craig Downing collected the award for UK Employee of the Year for his exceptional work as a diversity champion within the Society and Mike Regnier picked up the Chief Executive of the Year Award for his commitment to pursuing a diversity and inclusion agenda in the workplace.
The other shortlisted categories were UK’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead of the Year 2019 and Large Business of the Year 2019. The Society also received its Investors in Diversity accreditation on the night.
The judges acknowledged the winners’ passion, dedication and commitment in creating an inclusive workplace at Yorkshire Building Society for its colleagues and customers.
Mike Regnier, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Building Society, said:

It was a great night and we were thrilled to be shortlisted, so to come home with three awards was the icing on the cake.”

Annual diversity index
The Society also moved up 39 places in the UK Top 100 to 57 in the annual index.
The annual Index covers the UK’s private, public and third sectors, employing thousands of people across the country, celebrates the contributions of the most committed people and organisations which promote Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement.
Now in its fourth year, the Top 100 Index listing is put together as a result of a company survey sent to all employees from companies that work towards the NCFD’s Investors in Diversity or Leaders in Diversity accreditations.
