Diversity Champion Award for Education Sector

At the age of 24 Jane co-founded the 2050 Climate Group – which leads a social movement by engaging, educating and empowering future leaders from all places and backgrounds in Scotland to take action on climate change. So far they have created a movement of 400 young people who are skilled with both environmental and leadership knowledge. The programme was described as a world first by Scotland’s First Minister. Jane represented the UK at UN Human Rights Council Youth Forum in Geneva – contributing to international human rights policy with peers from across the globe, helping to represent the voices of young people. She also participated in Young Women Lead – the first parliamentary committee made up entirely of young women under 30. In addition, Jane and 2 others secured £4 million pounds of funding for conservation and education projects in her 6 month graduate scheme.
