Victor Finch, PCSO within Sussex Police has been the driving force behind a number of initiatives aimed at raising awareness for people with disabilities. During his time within the force, he has redesigned the staff association, become secretary of the Sussex Police Disability Staff Association and has been a key player in ensuring Sussex Police delivers its promise to adhere to the Equality Act. He has assisted Gatwick Airport and the local community with a number of events, supporting disability charities and is a school Governor at a specialist school. Vic was involved in Gatwick becoming the first autism-friendly airport in the UK, which is now accepted by the Civil Aviation Authority as best practice for all UK airports. He also faces his own daily battles – he was recently diagnosed with dyslexia and has two children with complex disabilities.
