With a passion for creating positive change, Liverpool Women’s has committed itself to reducing health inequalities and anti-racism in the NHS, particularly in the critical domain of maternal health.

In the webinar, the facilitator will share insights into the impact of race and racialisation in public health and the journey that Liverpool Women’s has undertaken in its commitment to anti-racism including challenges and successes.


Lisa ShokoAbout Lisa

Lisa Shoko is a Diversity, Equality and Inclusion practitioner working at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust. Lisa leads on EDI and supports in multiple areas including anti-racism, disability and gender inclusion. She has a strong academic background in legal and socio-legal matters and has extensive experience of working with public institutions on decolonial methodologies, race inclusion and anti-racism. With her academic knowledge and specialist EDI skills, Lisa continues to support anti-racism and inclusion work at local, regional and national level in the NHS. Lisa has a degree in Socio-Legal Studies and her research focus areas include themes of sense of belonging, intersectionality, sexuality, race and gender justice.
