Black British Academics

ICA18 Shortlisted Nominee.

Best Diversity Resource Award

Black British Academics was established in April 2013 as a pro-active, influential network of intellectuals and scholar activists committed to tackling racial inequality in higher education. Their mission is to improve the access, experience, progress and outcomes of staff and students of colour, and in doing so enhance the reputation, performance and standing of higher education institutions, helping them to achieve their strategic goals. Their innovative resources include networks, forums and consultations. Black British Academics has had a major impact on how institutions view race equality. Through their project-oriented and consultancy work, and thought leadership on race equality in higher education, they have created greater awareness among university and HE sector leaders of the need to include staff and students of colour in defining the key issues around racial inequality and advancing solutions.
