Building Equality is an alliance of construction and engineering organisations working together to drive LGBT+ inclusion in the built environment. Building Equality’s LGBT+ Inclusion Toolbox Talk, is a short presentation aimed at promoting and educating on key LGBT+ issues. It was noted that within the sectors this topic, and subsequent issues, are often overlooked, with many unsure how to approach the subject. Therefore, the Toolbox Talk was created as a simple solution to address, educate and start the conversation around sexuality and gender identity, whilst offering advice and support to LGBT+ individuals and allies. The supplementary Poster Campaign addresses inappropriate language, behaviour and microaggressions still faced by the LGBT+ community on sites, in offices and society generally. These are free resources for the whole construction, engineering and built-environments sectors to use to educate and empower their workforces.
