Diversity Champion Award for Public Sector
With a background in leading large, transactional HR teams, Emma has been involved in Equality and Diversity work for the whole of her career and is currently responsible for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. In particular, Emma supports employees who are impacted by Islamophobia, providing guidance to managers about how best to make reasonable adjustments for staff members who need additional help to undertake their work. Emma has created a network of 100+ Equality and Diversity Champions who undertake project work, share learning, disseminate messages, promote health and wellbeing, provide support to colleagues and role model values. In addition, Emma has created strong relationships with local organisations and hosts an annual diversity conference, ‘Opportunity Knocks!’ bringing 100 local people together to celebrate diversity and share stories.
