This session will focus on reducing the stigma often faced by individuals with chronic illnesses and exploring practical ways to support them both in the workplace and during health-related absences. Katie\, a proud trans woman and experienced public speaker\, and Lucian\, a passionate advocate for inclusivity as a trans man\, will share their personal journeys and explore the unique challenges faced by transgender individuals in the workplace. \nThis engaging session will also provide practical insights into how organisations can create supportive environments for trans employees and actively promote inclusivity. In recognition of Transgender Day of Remembrance\, they will discuss how to honour this important day with respect and meaningful action. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how we can all be allies and champions for positive change. \n\nAbout the facilitators  \nKatie Neeves FRSA (She/Her)\nKatie Neeves came out publicly as being transgender in 2018\, after living for 48 years as a man.  She formed Cool2BTrans to support and inspire other trans people and to educate others\, using humour to deliver trans awareness training and inspirational talks. Katie appears regularly in the media\, she’s a BBC presenter and she has won many awards\, including British Diversity Awards Hero of the Year 2023.  She is on the Global Diversity List 2023\, she was on the Top 100 Influential People in the UK 2024 list and she is a National Diversity Awards Positive Role Model for LGBT Award 2024 finalist too. \n\nLucian Main (He/Him)\nLucian Main (He/Him) is an ED&I Partnership Executive at Inclusive Companies with a passion for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)\, Lucianbelieves in their transformative power to enhance workplace culture\, drive engagement\, and promote a sense of belonging. He actively participates in and supports various ERGs\, recognising their crucial role in creating a more equitable and supportive workplace for everyone. Lucian like the rest of his panel understands the impact that 365 LGBTQ+ Inclusion can have.
