SUMMARY:The HR Hangover: Rethinking Alcohol at Work Events
DESCRIPTION:Ask any seasoned HR professional what their busiest day of the year is\, and they’ll regale you with horror stories of the day after the annual office Christmas party: fights\, verbal abuse and sexual harassment claims resulting in disciplinary action and dismissals are commonplace. \nNo one wants to be a party pooper or tell people not to drink\, so how can employers get the balance right between festive celebrations and managing the risks? \nAs the Employee Rights Bill places increasing pressure on employers to protect workers from sexual harassment\, it’s more important than ever for employers to understand the role that alcohol plays in their workplace culture\, to evaluate the messages they are sending to their employees about alcohol\, and to implement strategies to promote inclusion for the growing population of employees who choose not to drink. \nYou’ll leave this webinar with: \n\nA greater awareness of how alcohol contributes to employers’ risk\nThe latest data revealing changing attitudes towards alcohol\nIncreased awareness of how alcohol is increasing seen as an inclusion issue\nAn appreciation of the importance of making changes in the workplace\nSome practical tips that you can put in place in your own workplace today\nA set of questions to ask to implement your own alcohol-culture audit\n\n\nMeet Janet Hadley \nJanet Hadley had it all – the happy marriage\, the successful career\, the nice house\, the kids doing well at school\, the gym subscription… but she was regularly used to wake up at 3am\, dry mouth\, head banging and promising herself she’d learn to moderate her drinking. In June 2020 she sent the Wine Witch packing for the final time and opened her mind to the possibility of living alcohol-free. She hasn’t looked back. \nJanet went on to become the founder of Choose Sunrise Limited\, whose mission is to eliminate the stigma associated with alcohol addiction. Janet has developed a reputation as a standout speaker\, combining her 25 years of senior management roles with her insight into ‘coming out’ as sober in the workplace. A subject matter on all things sobriety\, Janet is the keynote speaker that everyone is talking about. \nwww.choosesunrise.co.uk \nConnect with Janet on LinkedIn\nFollow Choose Sunrise on Facebook\nFollow Choose Sunrise on Instagram\nListen to the Professional Drinkers Podcast
