Outstanding Diversity Network Award
Embrace is the Financial Ombudsman’s ethnicity employee network with members and allies across the service. Their aim is to embrace racial and cultural differences that intrinsically shape their Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) colleagues’ identities by raising awareness, seeking equality of opportunity for BAME colleagues, and using insight to improve and develop existing policies that enable the service to achieve its diversity and inclusion strategy. Aligned with the service’s strategic aims, Embrace is advancing the work towards increasing BAME representation in leadership from 16% – an enviable representation, to one more reflective of the overall BAME service representation of over 30%. The network also led the way in responding to the needs of its members through development, training opportunities and mentoring circles – increasing empowerment and skills which have helped with career progression. And there is still more to do!
