Ian Cook

ICA19 Shortlisted Nominee.

Mentor/Sponsor of the Year Award

Ian Cook – Programme Manager, Diversity Council member, Disability Network Co-Lead, Mental Health First Aider, mentor and Arcadis employee since 2000 – brings his whole self to work to the benefit of others. In 2004 he contracted Streptococcal Septicaemia and as a result had all four limbs amputated. After two years in hospital recovering and rehabilitating, he returned to work at Arcadis. He draws on his technical and personal experiences in his role as the Arcadis Disability Network Co-Lead, a role where he inspires and engages with people passionate about making Arcadis an inclusive business. He has been an active sponsor of the Disability Network since its inception, listening and helping shape the group aims, priorities and tactical actions. As Ian recovered from his life changing injuries, he was mentored by a fellow four-limb amputee. He now gives back his time by mentoring other people who have had limb amputation.
