As a leader in Arcadis, Mark has consistently championed inclusivity across the business and has been influential in not only shaping its people agenda but delivering on it. When Mark was appointed CEO, he took an active role in forming, energizing and chairing Arcadis’ Diversity Council – a 21-strong advisory group representing multiple protected characteristics. As Chair, Mark provides the bandwidth, authority and steer for members and ensures workstreams work in tandem to deliver a coherent EDI programme and a compelling narrative to colleagues. Promoting EDI as integral to ‘business as usual’, Mark has embedded it into business planning, mandated ‘unconscious bias’ training, and urged leaders to regularly evaluate the impact of their own contributions to creating an inclusive culture as part of performance reviews. Mark was recently named one of the best CEO’s of 2019 by Glassdoor.
