Best Diversity Resource/Initiative Award

The Skills 4 Career Development Programme for Women was designed to address issues raised in the 2008 UK Government commissioned report: Shaping a Fairer Future, which examined the causes of the gender pay gap. Specialising in the Engineering, Construction and Advanced Manufacturing sectors, Skills 4 have worked with over 100 organisations including: Atkins, Arcadis, Amey, Balfour Beatty, HS2, Kier, Mott MacDonald, Rolls-Royce and Siemens. The Career Development Programme has supported more than 8,000 women to advance their careers within these male-dominated sectors. The programme focusses on advancing women already in the talent pipeline, supporting the development of these women into more senior roles creating much needed role models whilst also balancing out a potential gender pay gap increase whilst the sector works to attract a more diverse range of new entrants into the STEM sector.
