Her work spans a wide range of sectors, with leadership accountability and systemic change at its core. A notable achievement has been increasing staff network membership by 300% in a single year at law firm TLT, supporting their sponsors throughout.

Her consultancy is deeply informed by her lived experience as a white LGBTQ+ woman from a multicultural, working-class background. She holds a particular interest in social mobility, effective white allyship, and enabling the structural changes needed to tackle inequality at its roots.

Sandra currently holds a number of NED roles and has Chaired various regional and national organisations. Her work on equality has seen her speak at the EU Committee on issues of flexible working, equality in the workplace and the benefits of getting women back into work. She has conducted many local, regional, and national business growth and other projects across England, Scotland, and Wales, and in particular working to engage with underrepresented groups in the workplace and the community.

Sandra has worked with senior teams in a number of sectors including Banking, Human Resources, Transport, Manufacturing, Engineering, Police, Social Care, Higher Education, NHS, Membership, and the Voluntary sector.

In addition to Executive Coaching at senior level, her experience and skills incorporate discussion forums, facilitation, training, and development of programmes for Universities, Higher and Further education organisations as well as bespoke programmes for blue-chip companies.

Her business acumen has earned her numerous awards in recognition of her professional, community and business development contribution nationally.

She attained the status of Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Chartered Manager (CMgr), Fellow of the Institute of Consulting, having headed up this organisation for several years. Additional qualifications include 7407 & 7403 City & Guilds, Certificate Personnel Development CIPD, Level 7 & 5 Diplomas in Management, and a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Leicester.

Sandra was recently listed in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List 2021 when she was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Equality.

Sandra is an international speaker, author, and equality activist working with senior leaders to recognise and incorporate the benefits of difference and creating equality within organisations.

Emma McLaughlin-Edwards is a highly accomplished leader and EDI consultant with over 20 years of experience transforming workplaces within the built environment. Having worked in Facilities Management and engineering for over 20 years —industries often dominated by men—Emma has built a strong reputation for driving meaningful progress in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

As a director at Constructing Rainbows and a trusted advisor to senior executives and leadership teams, Emma combines deep industry knowledge with a practical and strategic approach. She collaborates with organisations to embed EDI principles into their operations, helping leaders move beyond surface-level initiatives to create lasting cultural change.

Emma’s work goes far beyond writing policies. She is passionate about creating workplaces where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered, whether through building fair recruitment pipelines or holding leaders accountable for cultivating genuinely inclusive environments. Known for her honest and approachable style, Emma inspires leadership teams to see diversity and inclusion as essential drivers of innovation and success.

Emma’s influence extends beyond consultancy. She has served as a judge for high-profile awards such as the Inclusive Companies Top 50, the IWFM Impact Awards, The Workplace Leaders Top 50, and The Great British Businesswomen Awards. Her role as a judge reflects her expertise and deep understanding of what it takes to create and celebrate inclusive workplaces and leadership.

Emma is also a leading committee member of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) ED&I Steering Group and co-chairs LGBT+in FM. Through these roles, she advocates for underrepresented groups, fosters collaboration across industries, and leads conversations that challenge the status quo.
