Introduction

In the 2025/26 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers Index, UK Power Networks achieved an impressive 8th place, securing its fifth consecutive year in the top ten. This recognition follows the organisation’s number one ranking in 2024 and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to embedding inclusion deeply across its culture and operations. 

UK Power Networks is the country’s largest electricity distributor, delivering power to 8.4 million homes and businesses across London, the South East and the East of England. With a workforce of more than 6,500 employees, the company is responsible for keeping the lights on safely and sustainably for 19 million people, including those living in the most vulnerable circumstances. 

In 2025, the company strengthened its focus on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) by introducing innovative new initiatives, enhancing leadership accountability and expanding its reach into underrepresented communities. UK Power Networks also continued to build on its external accreditations, including the National Equality Standard and Investors in People, using these benchmarks and employee feedback to inform its strategic shift from equality to equity.
