THE chief executive of Tomorrow’s Women Wirral has been shortlisted for a top industry award.
Angela Murphy has been shortlisted for the Chief Executive of the Year category at this year’s Inclusive Companies Awards.
Taking place on November 28, the awards aim to celebrate the people who go above and beyond the call of duty to improve the lives of others in workplaces and communities around them.
As chief executive of Tomorrow’s Women Wirral, Angela has worked to build up the women’s charity from a small project back in 2011 to a vital community centre in the heart of Birkenhead.
The project provides a safe place for all adult women and is committed to reducing the numbers of women offending.
Angela told the Globe: “I am so pleased to have been shortlisted for this impressive award, particularly as the general public have voted.
“I am delighted to get the Tomorrow’s Women Wirral name out there to showcase our work and help support more women.”
A group of other inspiring people just like Angela will gather at The Hilton in Manchester’s Deansgate area on November 28 for the Inclusive Companies Awards.
The Inclusive Companies Awards aim to recognise employers that unite workforces and challenge discrimination while celebrating those who fight against inequality.
Founder of the Inclusive Companies Awards and National Diversity Awards, Paul Sesay said: “In difficult and challenging times, using the talent of a diverse workforce is more important than ever.
“Considering the diversity of your workforce and fostering an inclusive working environment can bring business benefits and provide a market advantage.
“The Inclusive Companies Awards continue to be an exceptional way to celebrate the courageous actions of individuals and organisations, who are already striving for inclusion.”
