Mentor/Sponsor of the Year Award

Craig is a Lecturer at the University College Birmingham teaching Criminology and Criminal Justice/Youth and Community Studies. He is a Criminologist, a JNC qualified Youth Worker with over 15 years of experience as an outreach worker, transformational speaker, international gang exit strategist, mediator, mentor and filmmaker. Craig is one of the UK’s leading experts in responding to gangs and serious youth violence, working with some of countries most challenging young people, potentially high-risk offenders, victims of gang violence and youth who are deemed most hard to reach. A role model and community activist, Craig has mentored over one thousand young people and created the youth work model ‘on-road youth work’; which recognises knowledge, language and positionality when working with young people. His dedication and hands on approach to helping the youth in his local area and beyond is unprecedented.
